I turned 26 last month.
This is probably the first year in my life that I’ve actually felt fine with the age I’m turning. I feel proud of my achievements over the past year and have seen a lot of growth within myself.
So, In no particular order, here are some lessons / facts I learnt during my 25th year about myself and the world:
the perfect oven setting to bake cookies
how to create a Google sheet for every minute detail of my life
oat milk is way nicer than almond milk
there’s comfort in being “the quiet one”
white wine spritzers
commonplace journals
how to mail merge
the difference between gel and acrylic nails
volcanoes!
never fly from Gatwick airport
the perfect amount of garam masala
the geography of Kent
my local library!
Britain can happily go through a lot of prime ministers in one year
how to pack a cabin suitcase
how to run 10k
how to cook an amazing tomato pasta sauce
how to cook the amazing tomato pasta sauce in different ways
perfected my scrambled egg recipe
my grandparents think tattoos are cool
therapy is incredibly valuable
yoga is too
how to build my confidence in driving
how to code using html
how to become comfortable with growing older
Here’s to 26! 🥳
It’s inevitable we age. We can’t stop it but we can do so with an open mind. As we age we learn and experience all sorts of incredible things if we embrace it.
Yaaaay, I feel this so much too as I hit my mid-to-late (lol) twenties
